Does anyone here use any racing simulators? I recently have been heavily into and racing and sim-racing. I play rFactor and GTR Evolution. I also play Test Drive Unlimited, but that's not necessarily a simulator.

Funny thing, bought myself a 4850HD (which is hopefully coming in the mail tomorrow !) just so I could get good FPS in these games :).

check out live for speed: http://www.lfs.net/

its a lot of fun with a racing wheel such as the g25 or driving force gt pro (which is what i use).

It's graphics are nothing special but physics are noted as one of the best. It costs about $40 for a full S2 license.

Rfactor and LFS is the two best racing simulator games money can buy:)

I use a logitech G25 racing wheel and i play LFS all the time it's very funny.

Codemasters is realeasing a Formula 1 simulator this year -drool- google it. I play GTR2 alot, I seen the revolution one, but I wasnt sure if thats older or newer. Nascar 2009 looks really good graphics and realistic wise, waiting for that to come out. If you like motorcycle racing, motogp 2008 looks really nice if you have the video card for it with 4x AA enabled. Its the most realistic motorcycle game out there.

I haven't played a single racing Sim better then LFS. Id rather have tons of options for setting up your car instead of adding bumpers and crap like need for speed.

Oh yeah me too.

I just played rFactor not too long ago with all of my new parts in my rig. Ran everything maxed out, and holy crap it looks really good, even compared to my old settings which was like all high/medium settings. Now with everything on max Ax16 and AA level 3, it looks really good.

I have GTR Legends, GTR Evolution, NFS Pro Street (not really a sim, but still fun)..all play great and even a 9600GT is plenty of power for these, but that 4850 will make them pur!

:toast:

Is GRID considered a Sim?^^
I play it on both PC and PS3. PC looks better, but you can't beat racing on a 42" Plasma with a wheel.

You definitely need to try out Live for Speed. If you know where to look, you can get the latest one for free.

C'mon Reventon...you need to stop playing around and come to the darkside already. iRacing.com it gets no better than that w/o spending mega millions. If it's good enough for the pros (of which we have a lot) I'm sure you'll enjoy it. :)

GTR2 end thread

I have iRacing, rFactor, Live For Speed, Richard Burns Rally, GT Legends, GTR 2, blah blah.

I mostly play iRacing, rFactor and Live For Speed.
I have the Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo wheel.

I mostly just play racing sims :o

Played lots of TDU as a less serious thing, lots of GT4 (PS2). I enjoy LFS a lot, I still need to purchase the full version.

Unfortunately rFactor wont even install for me. :(

I enjoy Trackmania.

 hope you enjoy that game Maxed out on you're 4890 :D

I swear by Live For Speed + G25, a proper seating arrangement like a sports car seat and a big screen.

I have tried every car game, and i find LFS to be the most realistic car game that keeps getting better. I anxiously await the day they finalize their game and release an SDK to allow for custom maps because im over the current maps available.

I play alot of Colin McRae's DiRT (R.I.P), Need For Speed : Carbon/Most Wanted, Undercover, rFactor, V8 Supercars 3 ( But i think its called something else outside of Australia, umm Toca ), GTR Evolution, EA's F1 2008 on PC, and GT Prologue on the Ps3.

I only use Test Drive Unlimited.

I did have rFactor and that was alright, but I prefer to free roam in my games. Which is why I hate NFS so much....

TDU 2 is coming out next year.....Should be a laugh...

Might try and ''Find'' LFS later this week....

I've been meaning to play Gran Turismo 4 on manual with my old wheel. Is LFS any good with the G25? I'd LOVE to own a G25 but I'd need to have more than a few games to make it worth buying.

Speaking of TDU :D

With some help I think I will be making my first game mod. I am trying to make the Porsche 917 for TDU, though it won't be finished for another two months or so. You can see my WIP thread here - http://forum.tdu-central.com/showthread.php?t=10237

I plan on getting LFS possibly, though I find the lack of extra track and licensed vehicles to be a bit of a low point. Are there any mods for it? I would like to play it. I also plan on getting Codemaster's F1 2009 game for PC. And maybe getting the G25 once the G27 comes out, hopefully for cheap :D

I play a lot of GTR Evolution and rFactor, as well as TDU. Only racing games for the PC as of now.

I'm not so much into car racing sims, but I do have the complete MotoGP series (well except for this year). I even bought an old joystick with FFB technology to create my own "steering". I wanted to use my Renthal fat bar and make a custom steering for it. But then when everything went bad at work, it was just a dream.. But I still can play the MotoGP games better than any other game I've ever played.

Anyone still doing iracing? If so, list your names? :D

Isn't iRacing like $15 a month?
