DotA 2 is actually rebounding still. It was down as low as 450,000 players a few months back. It really hit a rut around the time PUBG was getting big, and is just starting to get back to where it was recently.

I mean, EA has a pretty big fanbase. Origin may not have had as many users as Steam, but it's not like EA is a relative unknown--they're one of the largest names in the Gaming industry. It's important to note, by "50 million players", I believe they mean they have evidence 50 million people have tried the game. I would say it's entirely likely at least that many have tried DotA, but what is important is regular users and player retention. League of Legends liked to tout their "unique account" number as their player count, but once it stopped increasing they stopped reporting it and now don't comment on player counts, and have no method of tracking player activity.

Those are unique players, not peak (concurrent). Dota 2 is now at 12 mil unique only during the last month (so active players).

Burnt out of BR's moreso than this game. Apex is polished but it brings almost nothing new to the genre.

Also I'm sick of bullet sponge games.

What do you consider to be not polished about it? There are some occasional matchmaking / network issues but other than that... the scope of the game is limited but what's there does work fine right?
