    Got my MX-2, just looking for any advice on applying it to my core i7,

    currently the method i dream't up is;

    Fit CPU to motherboard, put a blob in the middle of cpu, but heatsink on top, twist a little then fit it down with the push pins?

    this correct?

    or should i do a horizontal line across the top of the processor with the arrow in the top left and then fit n twist the heatsink?

    You had it right the first time.

    Small dab in the middle and put the heatsink on. Then, take it off and see how the contact was.

    If you're satisfied, then clean up and do it again :toast:

    well i was going to avoid buying the cleaning kit and try and get it right 1st time. lol

    no harm in that, just check my temps,

    what should the temps be for a standard clocked i7 920?

    just so i know if i messed up. :)
