Amazing cooler, my GTX260 OC'd to 670/1458 1180 runs no higher than 50C atm, and that's in Trine, usually it's closer to 40-46C! The fans at 100% are quiet in my HAF. Make sure you use the eraser suggestion on the mem chips and vddc chips and you'll be golden! The 260's don't have super-hot vrm issues with this cooler or provided vrm cooling. Mine don't go above 80C, usually around 70-75.

That is a great price.

I just installed one on my 280 and I wanted to chime in and let anyone thinking about this cooler hear about my experience.

Firstly, if you are not comfortable taking expensive things apart, better leave the stock cooler on or let someone else install it for you. I'm a PC technician and I was a little worried when it came time to remove the stock cooler. It's really on there, but I found another forum where someone had posted a detailed account of his waterblock install and how he removed the stock cooler.

Secondly, the eraser cleaning technique doesn't always remove all the residue from the chips. before I could get the memory heatsinks to stick, I used a little 800 grit sandpaper on them.

Thirdly, after re-installing the card the back plate came off of a few of the back chips. I decided that there was not enough rigidity to this card to keep good contact on all of the chips on the back of the card and the coolers (the Accelero Extremes) back plate. So I got a set of Scythe chip heatsinks, and ditched the plate. They're on Newegg.com but I got mine off of an eBay seller.


Lastly, my GPU core temps are much lower. From about 50c to 44c at stock frequencies (during gaming). For air cooling this thing performs well.

My current rig will probably be my last air-cooled machine, but I think I picked a winner in this card cooler. Looks like there's a lot of overclocking potential here.

So, you saying on my 55nm 260's I won't have any VRM overheat issues like I've seen reported?

Nope, it's only 65nm cards and more specifically the GTX 280. All 55nm cards are fine (at least we don't know what temperatures they get ) Your card has totally different VRM area to 65nm GTX 260, Accelero VRM plate won't even fit there (65nm top, 55nm bottom http://images.hardwarecanucks.com/image/skymtl/GPU/260-55NM/LARGE/55NM-5.JPG)

Couldn't tell ya, mine's a 65nm.

260's even in 65nm don't seem to have the issue the 280's do...unless my card is a fluke. My card runs so damn cool...very happy with the cooler overall.
