Arctic has today announced the F PWM CO (Continuous Operation) series case fans which have been designed to work nice and quiet 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Coming in three sizes, 80 mm (F8 model), 92 mm (F9) and 120 mm (F12), these new fans feature a Japanese dual ball bearing, they are backed by a six-year warranty, and offer support for the patented PWM Sharing Technology (which forwards the PWM signal to all other fans within the system so that all fans are spinning at the same speed).

The F PWM CO specs:

- F8: 700 ~ 2000 RPM (speed) | 0.3 Sone (noise) | 31 CFM (airflow) | $7.90
- F9: 600 ~ 1800 RPM | 0.4 Sone | 43 CFM | $8.50
- F12: 400 ~ 1350 RPM | 0.5 Sone | 74 CFM | $9.95

So...why aren't these fans white?
CO means they have to look like standard case fans?
Meh, I'll take two F9s please. :)

thanks to the hydro bearing, the white arctic fans are already pretty 24/7 capable, never had one go out due to a defect

How will these perform on a radiator compared to more expensive fans?

bad... they have weak pressure.
you can see it from the design of the blades, that this is not a rad fan... get some gentle typhoons, or some good deltas, and be happy ;)

I bought two 120mm PWM fans from Arctic Cooling recently, and I have to say that I'm not that impressed. While I don't specifically have any problems with them, their build quality is terrible (plastic is so thin it looks like if I flicked a toenail at the fan I would break a blade), and their warranty was dropped from 5+ years to a lot less on these. Looks like the F PWM CO series is meant to address this, but it looks like the exact same crappy build quality with a better bearing.

i misused and tortured the white arctics, time and time again... they never ever broke for me, neither the blades, nor the bearing, which is the sturdiest and most silent bearing of all my fans;)

IIRC AC fans come with a 5 or 7 year warranty. That says something about the company's confidence in their products.

Those were the versions prior to the ones that I bought. Seems like they cheaped out on my version, and are releasing these ones to replace them (hopefully).
