are cards like this usually doomed?

ive seen a few cards saying the same problem, i was just wondering if the card itself is knackered, or is it just a bios reflash it needs?

it would be a great bargain if thats usually the case......

so what exactly is usually wrong with these cards when they display those symptoms? is the chip itsself faulty?

I have a couple of cards like this and one of them was NOT sorted by bios flash. Haven't even bothered trying with the other, if you find out what causes it I'd like to know, I also tried reseating the HSF.

it could be lots of things.. a grafix card has many components that pretty well all need to work.. these things are not designed to be fixed just thrown away..
