I'd go for it. All my cards are 2nd hand. I don't think I will ever buy a spanking brand new GPU. My current RX480 is also a mining card. I mean I don't go blindly in, but in USA you have so much more buyer protection, that you almost always can find a way to get something replaced.

Not with person to person sales, unless an actual sales receipt is generated.

Cards that have been used for 1 year of mining are often in better condition than used for 1 year of gaming. Why? Thermal expansion. The chip has undergone far FAR less cold and hot cyclings from load changes during mining, whereas cards used for gaming half a dozen hours a day get cycled constantly. Miners also undervolt their cards.

Personally, I'd rather buy a second hand miner card than a gamer's card.

Under-clocked well cooled only thing you potentially need to worry is fan health.
I was mining for year and a half 22 cards haven't had one card fail on me and 2/3 of the cards I bought them used.
Only issue I had one on GTX1070 one of the fans died and that was it.
Now that I don't mine anymore built two PC to use home with those parts no issues what's so ever.
Having cards running 24/7 kept cold vs somebody used the card for gaming pushed to high temps and then cooled down back and forth stresses the card waaaaaaay more.

Interesting take.

From my own experience, I purchased 2x 290x used mining cards after the first crypto boom. They worked flawlessly. I re-sold them in late 2017 during the earlier part of the second mining boom. Got at least as much as originally paid for them.

So yea, from a reputable seller... go for it.
