Dear TPU Forum,

I need advice for my voltages as I'm seeing my temps a bit on the high-for-my-taste side.

Are my voltages adequate for my frequencies?

Vcore 1.24
DIMM 1.65
PLL 1.84v
IMC/QPI/VTT 1.16v

Current Clocks:

CPU 3.68MHz
RAM 1775MHz 9-9-9-24 1T

Thanks for all the help :)

Are these 100 % CPU temps? Even with 100 % load I find them a bit high too. You have a custom case I see. Do you have sufficient airflow (at least 2 x 120 mm) ? If the answer is yes and yes then reseat your heatsink. To your question - since you have high temperature then it might be worth to try and lower VCore one click or two otherwise the voltages are fine. BTW is it very hot on Malta these days?

1. Yes these are taken during Loop 5 of Intel Burn Test on Max
2. It is still in construction. half way trough. still looks like an antec Skeleton for now (only that the shape is different). It has push-pull on the heatsink only and i've ran out of fans (for now) but even with a Stand fan (the ones we humans use to cool) it maybe drop by 2 but no more.
3. Yes in Malta summer is a 36*C and with humidity at 85+ it feels like 50+. But currently some cold weather has started this week and those temperatures only varied by 1 lol. just re-tested with the same stuff and the results are almost the same. (71 70 71 69).

Heatsink was installed about a month ago. Used the Blob method for the stock Xigmatek Paste and i'm pretty sure I put the exact amount needed (i'm really good at calculating).

OK, an open rig and it is warm and your heatsink is decent without being good. You might have to live with that temperature. I run my i7 24/7 and try to keep it under 60 C (open rig) and that takes some downclocking (to 4 GHz @ 1.18) when it get hot.

Hey, dropped the voltage by 10 steps so far (tested after each step) and still passed 5 loops of IBT on max. doing 1.176v instead of 1.24v.

Idle:
Core 0: 39___________________Core 0: 43
Core 1: 35________VS_________Core 1: 39
Core 2: 38___________________Core 2: 42
Core 3: 35___________________Core 3: 38

Load:
Core 0: 65___________________Core 0: 73
Core 1: 62_________VS________Core 1: 71
Core 2: 63___________________Core 2: 72
Core 3: 64___________________Core 3: 70

Will try to reduce voltage even more.

Thanks!

can it be because the graphics card is on the 1st slot which means just 1cm below the heatsink?

would rotating the heatsink (sucking hot air from the graphics card) make it better or worse?

Good job. No don't turn the heat sink unless you want to cool the backside of your graphics card.

because since hot air raises (and there would be x3 120mm fans on top) i thought it would make things better

Not really able to tell since every chip is different.

If you want a quick way to find out if your in the "ballpark" for voltages, go and get Hyper Pi 0.99b. If you can pass 32M with 8 threads your getting close. Also you need to run IBT longer than just 5 loops. Let it run for 20 with the most memory you can use. Should take about an hour but as long as you past that you should be either there or very close.
