are pc games high def?

720p= 1280 x 720 So 1280 x 1024 is pushing more pixels than 720p,so does that mean pc games at 1280x1024 are high def?

High def is just the name given to higher quality films and TV programmes ect. PC games have as good a resolution as HDTV so you could call it high definition, but I think generally speaking PC monitors are accepting as being high res and separate from TVs because they are constantly evolving, they don't just have a couple of limited pre-determined standards.

So yes, they are sort of high def.

Yea, they are more than HD. I can go 1800x1440, which is way higher than 1080P. Computer monitors are also pixel based, not line based. So at 85HZ a CRT monitor is redrawing the image 85 times per second, where an HD TV draws 60hz. So yeah, pc games are HD.

very true....all 360 games support at least 720p and most are 1080i

hrm, i dont think its considering "high def" per say, or what we are calling high def these days. your monitor is measured in pixels and high def is measured in lines. or something like that.
