Are these temps alright?

i got a 850xt and i got it over clocked to 570/570, my temps are about 44-49 playing on the Halflife Engine and i go up to about 59 playing Total War Medieval 2 is this ok ? i dont see a temperature change from overclocking or default. also do i have to exit out of ATI Catalyst for the ATI Tool 2.4 to work correctly? or should i set the ATI catalyst overdrive to 570/570 also.

Those temps are fine, my X800 hits 90C sometimes (admittedly a little high). I would recommend you disable the CCC from starting with windows and just use ATITool to overclock, it uses much less RAM.

I have a very biased opinion, since I hate ATI But they don't seem too bad for temps, Tho the 59 almost seems a little high, but again, I dont know alot about ATI's temps.

no worries with those tempsup to 70 while playing games is fine, thats what ati say, even at 90 your card would be find however i wouldnt do that for too long as your card wont last as long but untill u reach the 70 mark dont worry at all

TBH I think my temp sensor might be screwed. It shows 59C when it's idle and I've underclocked it to only about 75% of stock speeds, plus that's when I have 3 case fans gently blowing and my CPU is only at 40C (with the fan off). So it probably only really hits in the 70s unless my card has a problem with the thermal paste or something, which is possible. I'll have to look sometime...

those cards can get pretty hot...90 imo is way to high...but 50-60c is fine...if you start to get upto 70+c then maybe you might think about an aftermarket cooler...in any case, make sure that your fan is cranked up on the stock cooler....

those temps arent bad but over time you may find it hard to hold those clocks at those temps....when i first clocked my card 1.5 years ago it was 555/620 without probs...now i can only get it upto 535/1200 without problems.....

Well to be honest, once you have changed any settings you want to with the catalyst control center it doesn't have much use and can take up in excess of 50MB of RAM when you boot, which is too much for most people aiming for the best performance. Just prevent CLIstart.exe from loading at startup and use ATI Tool to overclock and you'll have the same functionality but more RAM!!! If you were to encounter any problems you could always re-enable it. Ig you want an easy to follow guide on how to set up your drivers visit www.tweakguides.com.

i think for me anything upto about 80c is the absolute max i would want to see any higher and i would be worrying big time.

but when i game i normally open atitool and set the fan to full, is a little noisy but when playing games you dont hear it anyway and it keeps it around 65c max load for a couple of hours, good case fans can help i have 2x120mm and 1 x 90mm and when i installed these aswell as my arctic freezer 64 i noticed a 15c drop in my overall system temp.

I try to keep my video card in the high 60's low 70's when overclocking. Those temps are FINE.
