Very happy with my monitor for gaming and productivity. I'll be here for a while to come. No plans to do 4K, ever.

Until there is a 'reasonably' priced 4k / 144hz / Gsync monitor I see no reason to upgrade from 1440p.

I just see it as a waste of money at the moment.

That's bound to happen in no time, considering how many gamers have the ability to push >100fps at 4k ;)

If you're not playing in 4k it's because you haven't played in 4k. Once you do there's no going back to 2k.

Not yet.
To reduce eyes stress, I want to go with just FHD with 27"
or 2560x1440 on 29-31" monitor, both with flickerless feature.

My eyes already hurt so bad by working on small notebook all day.

Nope. If anything I'm looking at a high refresh 1440p monitor

Technically, I'd have to answer no, as I do most of my gaming at 5120x2880 :)

Not really playing AAA titles and preferring resolution over frame rates has a significant impact on how much graphical power you need for 4K and above.

As opposed to other quadruplings of the resolution that don't blow the doors off the original resolution? :D

If you're not playing in 4k it's because you haven't played in 4k. Once you do there's no going back to 2k.

I have a U2718Q Dell Monitor for my workstation, and a Acer XB271HU for my personal/gaming setup.

I've tried playing games on the 4K monitor and always preferred the higher refresh rate of the G-Sync Acer monitor. While it does look slightly nicer in 4K, I wouldn't quite call it "Once you go 4K you won't go back to 2K"

Granted I have a 1080Ti, so maybe with a 2080Ti or maybe next year 2180TI (or whatever nvidia ends up calling it) I wouldn't mind getting a 4K G-Sync 144hz panel. Then it will be glorious.

Playing mostly 1080p (native) and sometimes 1440p downscaled (if game has poor or unwanted type of AA implementation).

4K only for benchmarks / testing stuff.

If your goal is crisp graphics... It's hard to go backwards from 4k

I find that statement a bit dubious. I've got a 4k Acer Predator at 32" and 4k isn't really that different from 2k. I think for a lot of people, the difference is purely an act of self-justification. It also doesn't help that not all games use ultra UHD textures, so often a 4k monitor is wasted. I have to say that 4k is not the Unicorn people say it is. I'm side grading to a 144Hz 2k monitor.

43" 4k 96hz. Can't argue with resolution. The sharpness and LOD.

I would say the game matters a lot, too. You may have time to admire the graphics in Witcher, but definitely not in a Battlefield title.

I noticed it a lot in wildlands, which is some of the best graphics I've seen in a while. I tested 3440x1440 Alienware and a Wasabi Mango 4k 120h. You can clearly see the resolution difference in LOD and trees, light. It's obvious.. I'm hoping for more selection in 4k 120hz. @techpowerup, plz stay on this one. BFGD around the corner.

Ordered this today:

LG 32" G-sync 2650 x 1440p

:D

4k is great but it's really not that much better than 1440p. Just like a good Blu-Ray isn't really that inferior to a UHD Blu-Ray ( I know - I have UHD player and TV).

Good news for UK guys, my current Acer 4k 32" G-Sync will need a new home...

Disagree. :)

I'm 44 yrs old. My augmented eyes don't see the difference. Happy yours do. But..... I also notice blur in fps games so 144Hz will make it better for me in gaming.

Besides, I still have my 4k 55" OLED TV. :toast:

I am gaming at FHD.
I want to upgrade to WQHD, when the Graphics Cards can run at 144Hz on high Preset..

Spending 1k or more on a 27" monitor... I'd rather have a 40" 4k 120hz. For example.. The Wasabi 4k 120hz 10bit 4:4:4 can push 1080p at 300fps, 1440p at like 240+ fps and 4k at 120 8 bit, 96hz 10bit. So my thing is like why spend so much money on the same recycled stuff? I'd rather buy something that has options.. (Future proof) problem though, is when you buy the wasabi, you lose tech support and CS for the most part. That's why I'm ready to see DP1.4 pushed into LG, Samsung and become mainstream. I want to see Tv's coming with this, in fact OLED's. Microled's etc.
