Actually I compared my 8320's Single thread Cinebench score to the 1700X's at the same clock speed... it's 75% faster 154 for the 1700X @3.5 Ghz vs 88 for the 8320 @3,5

I can't wait to get my hands on these goodies, I've already pre-ordered the 1700X with a Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming 5 and 16GB Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4 2666mhz . If everything goes well this will be my system for the next couple of years.

Despite the platform limitations I posted about elsewhere, I'm most likely going to get a 1700X.
I'm not a fan boy for any brand in the tech industry, I've had it all and then some over the years and it's really a matter of who offers the best value for money at the time and that has the features I want.
Let's see some gaming benchmarks though, as I don't really do video editing any more, this would've been really handy a few years ago...

If had, for instance, sandy bridge i3 / i5 / i7 or ivy bridge i3 / i5 non-K, than I would wait for benches before buying one. Upgrading from my current system would be a complete waste of money.

I just upgraded less than a year ago, and I don't really feel like selling my MB and CPU for an upgrade I probably won't notice in games. Although, if I ever build that file server I've been researching... AMD seems like they might be a worthy contender

Didn't vote on the poll but I've got $400CAD for an AMD CPU waiting for an appropriate iTX MoBo to stick it in.

I chose 'best bang for buck' but reason for me is that I feel Intel have been taking the piss for years due to AMD's absence. Much like Nvidia ramping 1080 prices because it has no peer.

Stop spreading this fallacy, they jack prices because people are willing to pay. Period.

Stop putting the blame on AMD. In a TRUE free market consumers have the power, vote with your wallet and stop supporting companies that promote unethical business practices. Simple.

Anyone who just has to have that last 5 - 10fps can go right ahead and pay for it, I wont stop ya.

its been a LONG time since i was actually looking forward to a AMD product that I might actually purchase in the future....every release up to this current one seemed like nothing more than Hype, but regardless of the fact that the Performance is still to be shown, unless they have crippled cores(obviously unlikely & absurd), these chips are gonna be beastly , Especially including the price tags. I am glad the market/trend will be switched up from all the idiots paying 700-1000+ dollars for a damn 6-12 core CPU's, and showing intel that price gouging is fine, as long as there is no competition.this is truly a welcome change

I would definitely go for the 1600 model if the money were available. For now, most of the recent games I like are played on medium settings on 1080P.

Don't have the cash these days, and single thread speed and 4 cores is all I need, overclocked 3770K continues to deliver for me.

Next year, I will probably get a NVME PCI-E card with a good ssd like a 960 evo, or whatever the latest is, instead when I do get the cash. That or maybe a new mid range videocard whenever the new uarch comes out.
