I'm dumping this POS Intel hardware because there tick tock has been a bunch of crap.

Plus I encode a lot of videos and the Ryzen looks like its top notch and for the money it's the best bang for the buck.

Besides I want to see what @W1zzard gives as a score for AMD... That's going to be really interesting :pimp:

Anyways from all the videos of leaks and numbers I see Ryzen is going to hammer Intel to the wall..

Why are you changing and what are you going to buy for a system?

I'm personally going with the 1800X and Asus Crosshair VI Hero for now till a better board comes along.

I'm really interested in your comments.

I chose 'best bang for buck' but reason for me is that I feel Intel have been taking the piss for years due to AMD's absence. Much like Nvidia ramping 1080 prices because it has no peer.

I can now choose an 8 core CPU that doesn't cost 4 figures. And it looks more than competent.

I want to go Ryzen but with the boards being released now I am not throwing out cash to just having a cpu laying around doing nuth so until there comes better Micro-ATX/ITX boards with B350/X370 chipset I am on hold.

Not knowing real retail prices or performance I can't really answer so I voted "waiting for benches". I am waiting to do a MATX build, so I need to see what MATX AM4 offerings there are on launch which in the end may be the deciding factor on which direction I go.

Waiting for benches but :

1 - The low variety of AMD motherboards in my country.

2 - And knowing the fact that Ryzen is not backward compatible with my old CPU coolers.

3 - And Android studio requires Intel HAXM support.

Makes it a little hard for me to think about AMD.

I don't really know how to behave about all this AMD things but don't pick me wrong people if i say choosing AMD looks like = i can't afford an Intel CPU.

nuth wrong with this @Knoxx29 but with hardware getting more and more expensive who don't want to have a good performance and mby higher then Intel for a much lower price?

I would love that so I can spend my money on other things too.

210-250 euros for a 4 core CPU in 2017 is insane. We've had those things a decade ago and they were ALL able to be overclocked. I'm going to upgrade to a Ryzen 5 6c12t as soon as I can.

I'm not paying a dime for a part that's not worth the money and has little headroom left after a few years. (Looking at you i3/i5 Sky/Kaby Lake, also could you PLEASE stop changing sockets every 1 or 2 years if the performance upgrade is minimal? Thanks.)

All I care about is the gaming potential and longevity of Ryzen CPU's and I don't think I'll be disappointed. They've mostly shown that they can deal with heavy number crunching, which could mean the chips will be tweaked more in the future if CPU has that much power.

This is something new and exciting for me. Ever since Sandy Bridge and Phenom II's have been around I've just lost interest in newer platforms.

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
need multiple vote possible ... not even remotely close to my thinking if i only use 1 option.

probably going Ryzen
1. Ryzen will probably be the same as the 1st Athlon : a mean of teaching fear to intel when they get too comfy ... (7XXX series? what a joke, 69XX? same boat.)
2. i always loved AMD but i sidetracked sometime ... first "real" CPU was a AMD K6-2 450 AFX then some Athlon and Athlon XP a lost in laptop period with some Merom Pentium, blerch, a Phenom II and FX (Vishera) period and then ... the actual 6600K (more powerful than a FX-6300? maybe ... but not really noticeable gaming wise )
3. Intel IS an ass hole ... but i wanted to see for myself if their CPU were good price wise... well for 5-10fps ... it's not what i call good, "ok" maybe but not good ...
4. a 1700X at a i7 price ... 8C/16T at "mainstream price"? ... i gladly take that over a 4C/8T at the same price ... even if gaming wise more than 4 core is "situational" (even more if it perform like a 1k $ Intel counterpart  ) edit: woops ... it's the 1800X that is close to the i7 price ... the 1700X cost less but it's basically just a downclocked (but unlocked) 1800X
edit2: also lower TDP ... 65W vs 95W? eeeeh?

I don't really know how to behave about all this AMD things but don't pick me wrong people if i say choosing AMD looks like = i can't afford an Intel CPU.
that's not how it goes now .... Ryzen seems to get close or even above the Intel counterparts and cost less ... its more a "i can afford intel but Ryzen seems to do better and cost less"
edit2: also lower TDP ... 65W vs 95W?

i can afford them but, i will still give a chance to AMD :p i am a reasonable person and when the underdog bite hard ... i take a look at it and that's exactly what happening
and if someone offer the same performance (or higher) level for a lower price, i wonder what else is needed.

Note: i voted: i won't because Intel rules the world.
no, they do not.

ofc bench will tell ... but Price/Performances crown seems to be heading one way for now.

I voted to wait for benches since im sceptic.
I like AMD GPUs, had 6 card from different gens, all performing well for their price and still working to this day.
I would really love to see good results of the 6Cores and 8Cores at reasonable price.
My I5 750 is still rocking solid scores for its age, and if i upgrade the platform, i would love to be worth it ( worth it for me means over 50% improvement over my current platform).

Lets wait and see what happens.

I like new stuff and I love AMD. It just always felt good having an underdog gear in your rig. Too bad that my current 5820K is fast enough for everything that I don't feel the need to change platform after just 1 year. But then again, that R7 1800X churning out same performance as 1000+ € 6900K for half the price, it sounds super exciting thing. I just hope AMD will stay competitive till I'll have to change platform, so I'll have them as an option again.
