Artifacts with gtx670amp

Never had these till now whilst playing bf3.
I've rolled back to 306.97 and so far so good.
I'am not computer whizz by any means...but can someone tell me what cause artifacts.
Someone told me it maybe the memory getting to hot in the gpu...is this true?

Depends on what the artifacts look like. Artifacts can happen for a variety of reasons.
