You can buy a can of conformal coating from RS possibly maplin and DIY your whole pc quite easily.
Im only unimpressed because I've seen similar unintentionally in my own pc and it didn't die either

note the part where they said that none of the pins are coated
so what are the odds that if you have a leak that the water will be nice enough to run down the board and around anything not coated ....
in order for this to be Class II Water-Resistant they would need to add gaskets and rubber Orings to all the connectors

But that is the point, if you have a leak it is very possible it will seep into a PCI-e slot, especially if that slot has a card in it. Plus the USB headers, FP Audio Headers, and any other jumpers won't be covered either.

But this isn't exactly totally useless either. As mentioned, extreme overclockers will like it, as it is one less step they will have to do themselves. And all the solders parts of the board will be covered, so it does at a little bit of protection against a water leak, it just won't save you guaranteed.

this is not a replacement for proper insulation anyone that does any clocking with ultra low temps will tell you that this is completely useless

put a PCI slot cover on it.

No one said it is a replacement for insulation. It is an extra barrier that some like to use, and this means one less step for them.

Don't forget most people use non conductive fluid too, which would add to the protection.

I had a major loop disaster once, and the board and graphics card survived, and the graphics card was transformed into a waterfall.

i have conducted many experiemnts with tap water here, and its totally non conductive to 12V from the PSU( used an old delta PSU)

you need to add a LOT of salt to make water condcutiVe. which explains why your stuff survived.

distilled water is completely non conductive.

@newtekie, this is made for extreme overclocking. not regular use.
this is just to protect components from condenstaion, not for converting a computer into a waterfall XD

On unpopulated slots. For populated ones just spray on some coating to seal it off.
