The latest in ASRock's DeskMini line, the DeskMini GTX1060 packs Intel's Z370 chipset into a case so small it could be a soda bottle. At just 2.7 liters in volume, the ASRock DeskMini GTX1060 is set to take the small form factor market by storm.

Saw this reviewed on hardwareunboxed. Great to read review here too. :toast:

"No CPU voltage controls in BIOS", Can you try using XTU for that? I know it's not the same, but if I remember right: controlling voltages with intel's tool will be kept over reboot(At least many uses it for lowering voltages for laptop cpus).

I like it. It's a cool approach to the compact size. I remember seeing motherboards like this a while back and I was kinda "really"? But wow, they made it work.

apart from the cpu cooler which seems like cancer it looks like a very potent box.

It looks really nice, but the use of MXM concerns me.

Of course, there wasnt really any other way to fit a 1060 into such a tiny box, but the use of MXM means there is little to no upgrade-ability available here. Why not solder a mobile 1070 or 1080 to the board, unless asrock intends on selling newer MXM boards down the line?

Can you post a pic of it next to a soda bottle? I'm not getting a grasp of its size.

The motherboard I/O backplate should give you a good reference point.

pretty decent for a mini PC. Would change the thermal paste to a better one thou.

I say cooling is the down side, the anemic Intel cooler, then a fairly generic extrusion (though it looks like a copper slug) for the MMX graphics both show the lack of care. They should be using some dual heat pipe cooler and larger fan. I can almost look past the CPU shortcoming as that something fairly easy to upgrade, however they really need to have a decent GPU cooler for that MMX package. While a GP106 in a MMX trim might be 80W package, I think because of the constraints of the SFX box the saturation of heat (CPU) without actual exhaust fan(s) they really need to pull more heat away quicker (improved transfer) and work with a larger fan that's hopefully speed controlled because the one on there might not be.
