Hi all,
Does anyone know whether it is possible to reflash a corrupt bios on this old board and what sort of tools I would need to do it?
I (stupidly) decided to wash the old board in a dishwasher, but forgot to remove the CMOS battery! When I try to power it up, I get a series of 5 short beeps which, depending on the source, either means that there is no VGA card detected, or a problem with the CPU.
I suspect that it is just a corrupt bios from shorting it out as the video card works fine and I'm 99% sure that the cpu is good. There 'was' a single bent pin on the board, but it's been bent back to as close to the original position as I can manage and I'm pretty sure that the pin is making contact with the cpu.
here's a pic of the bent pin (centre top)
