The leading global motherboard, graphics card and mini PC manufacturer, ASRock, is proud to announce that by using ASRock TRX40 Taichi motherboard, the global famous overclocker, Splave breaks a total of five world records on AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X. Also, Splave has overclocked the highest CPU frequency for AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X with 5748.66 MHz.

For those looking for a motherboard that dedicates to overclocking and achieving remarkable performance, the TRX40 Taichi is a must-have. It delivers the 16 Digi Power Phase & 90 A Dr. MOS technology not only to ensure all components are sturdy, but to offer a completely smooth power delivery to the CPU. Dr. MOS monitors current and temperature of each phase, and boost power and performance to the CPU. Therefore, Dr. MOS technology prevents latency or slow power surges, and gives a super stable system and tons of overclocking potential. So of course TRX40 Taichi seizes the five World Records and one Hardware First Place on HWBOT.org today.

Now do it with SMT enabled
Do you say the same thing when Usain Bolt broke the 100M record? Now do it for 800M?
Do you say the same when we break the production car land speed record? Now drive 260mph over 600 miles?
I'm basically asking, what your point is by asking him to do it with SMT enabled and why is that necessary? Do you know what it takes, what are the challenges involved, can the CPU even do that?
It's the first time ever in history we've had a 64 core CPU at this frequency. Instead of seeing it as a milestone, you'd rather find something wrong with it or lacking.
Maybe I'm missing the context of your comment, if I am sorry. If I'm not explain if you don't mind why doing it with SMT is so necessary, when the records have come anyway.

I held the world record for the i7-8750H under Intel's XTU.

I disabled SMT...

My claims to fame are small... LoL

But I agree, it's a crazy speed to hit. But those boards and CPUs are hand binned to be the absolute best.

It's really impressive none the less, that's a wild clock speed for so many cores on one package.

If complaining point out that the ram seems under-clocked. One point I do have is the CPU is an ES, so it's not a real 3990X...

Just saying...

And not All ES are good oc parts.

This is the truth.

I've smashed some great clocks out of ES parts and I've had some miserable examples.

Though in the case of the 3990X they are made of the best binned CCXs. So it kind of makes sense that an ES for it would likely be on the good side of the silicon lottery.

Just like my system specs, the cpu is oc across everything

I feel like my sarcasm broke somewhere and someone is arguing a point where I was trying to make a joke.

It's still a 64 core CPU and it's an impressive feat. ES or not is pointless. Heh

Glad to hear it.

I pushed a P4 ES to 5Ghz on air back in the day. It was cheaper than buying one retail and pushing voltages into it that still make me cringe.

I remember being an Abit fanboy. I still have my AW9D-Max. Ahh back when $300 was Uber mobo money.
