i voted Asrock simply because of the issues Asus has with their mobos, even more so when Dave is also lamenting Asus's build quality and technical issues.

Both are boards I have never had, unfortunately, so I can't really say too much about either. Sabertooth boards are ASUS's top-level product, to me, since they have the longest warranty(5 years).

Either way, based on your considerations, only looks are truly different. overclocking and memory support should be about equal from either, since neither are true OC boards. CPU clocking...well, that's more about the CPU than anything.

If that ASRock board is as high a quality and as good a performer as their Z68 Professional Gen3 Fatal1ty MB, then it would definately be the one I'd pick hands down.

Having owned both motherboards, I can say from my own experience that AsRock Z77 is a much better board.

I owned the Sabertooth for roughly 3 weeks when it died on me. I would occasionally start my machine and a high pitch loud tone would emit and hold until I turned my machine off. ASUS support just told me is was a hardware fault and that I needed to take it back to the store.

No RMA no additional troubleshooting. My store only has a 14 day return policy on MBs. Had to print off the email correspondence with ASUS to get them to take the board back.

Never touching another ASUS board again. This is my 3rd AsRock board and it will not be my last.

I like my AsRock Fatal1ty P67 Performance board. Works great and have never had issues. Only con I would give it is the stupid Fatal1ty picture in the boot screen and bios. But at least you can turn change the boot screen to plain text. It had good reviews on newegg to until IB came out and people thought it was DOA because they shipped with old bios versions.

So AsRock gets my vote.
