I like to see what a digital multimeter has to say on the 12V rail while running a 3D bench or game. Voltage droops are easy to see when a power supply is maxed out, regardless of the rating on the side of it.

If it's the Antec TP Trio 650, which I have as well in another system. It's got more then enough power for an HD4850cf setup. 12v performs as a single rail that gives up to 52a

Some of you are looking at a PSU from a wattage perspective. You should be looking at the PSU from a amperage perspective as well. I am not sure of the name of his Antec 650 but he needs to know the amperage of the 12V rail along with the wattage in this case. Also, many are using 4850 to crossfire their cards with XP with no problems. Therefore, XP does not cause this type of problem, it's something else. Cat 8.8 should be out any day now and believe that should help the situation. From reading the OP's post(s) I haven't found any information that pinpoints what problems he is having. Yes, he says:

But all he is saying is that he has a problem, nothing specific. What type of problem is the OP having? Has he tried to use a single card to see if the problem is gone? etc... If you look at this review, it's clear that ET:QW has a history of not scaling properly using CF. Therefore, it's true that there has been problems with QW: ET.

Suggestion:
I am going to take a wild guess that his problem maybe related to poor CF performance in a single game QW: ET and nothing else. As he has never mention a series of games in his follow up posts (as his title seems to imply). Change the .exe of QW:ET to either:
AFR-FriendlyD3D.exe (This should allow AFR to work when CF is used)
or
WarGame-G4WLive.exe (This is specific profile command for UT3 engine)

See which works better for you.


Side note:
Maybe in the future the OP should try to properly title his thread so it's clear how we can help?

I did this as well..I guess I will try the changing the exe qw thing when ever you let me know where it is and whats it called..for I see a few exe files..Thanks..Steve

As I've stated many times previously, ET:QW and crossfire do not work. Never have and who knows? Mabye never will.

I dont know if that is true or not erocker? ive read many many posts on etqw forum proving cf surely works on etqw heres one for example..

That thread doesn't prove anything?! It's a link back to this thread! Believe me, as someone who has used crossfire for quite some time, and played the game... It doesn't work, plus countless reviews can't be wrong... Can they? I'd love to see you prove me wrong, however I'm quite certain on this subject.

the only thing I figured was proof was that while playing the game each card in ccc said it was at 98 to 100 % at all times even when just standing there not moving in game..thats why I figured it did in fact work?

Right, it does use both cards, however the problem is on ATi's side (apparently) and the cards don't like to communicate well while playing the game.

Bios Crossfire Settings ...again

Hi guys I totally forgot how to set the bios settings for my two 4850 cards in the bios again whooopss...And gpu-z sais 2.01 6x 0.8x 2.0 soooo can someone tell me how to set the cf settings in my bios ..I have the new 1203 bios and thats why I dont still have it set up from before and I have looked and looked and cant find the right way to set the cf setup right ..and I have both cards in the blue slots as I always have ..I have the M3A32-MVP DELUXE WIFI CONFUSING BASTARD MOBO..WITH 2 4850,S IN CF ..HELLLLLP..Thanks....Steve
