asus a8n sli deluxe ocing

i've got an asus a8n sli deluxe with a winchester 3500. I can get it up to 2.7 at 270x10, but i want to go higher. I'm running at 30c idle, 35c load. I think i got more head room, but i'm not sure. can somebody help. the specs are kingston hyperx 2.5,3,3,8,1t. pci bus 33.3mhz, htt 4x, cpu voltage 1.66. I"m not sure what else to do, maybe the voltages are off. the ram is at 450 with a 333 divider

newest bios update and sometimes the mobo chip cant get any higher
without better cooling

i tried that, i had the chipset, video card, hddx2, cpu, all water cooled, i just can't seem to get any faster, i'm thinking i just reached the limits of the chip, sux though, only a 500mhz increase, for all those parts

2.7 is already a huge overclock in my opinion, but maybe try an OCZ PowerStream or a PC Power & Cooling PSU which could add stability if you're willing to spend the money.

im no expert but try to lower the htt to 3 and go from there. good luck

i just think i've simply reached the limits of this cpu, i can't keep it stable above 2.7, the a8n isn't the best board for overclocking from what i've been reading about it, a dfi lan party will be my next board, for sure

HTT at 3X as you are over 250HT

i got a steady 2.7ghz overclock with htt at 5x
i dont' know why but it works, after that i i can't get it to work, i've tried everything

your HTT should be at 3. try it
