I'm not exactly sure when it stopped finding my Aura compatible GPU, because I had it all set up as a static colour and forgot about it. I never really ran the program all that often, anyway.
Then the issue with Corsair iCUE appeared after fitting the new H100i and Asus Aura has gone to hell, with NON-Aura messages coming up and the program won't even see the card any more. I spent most of the morning uninstalling/reinstalling/rebooting and eventually got sick and tired of the whole mess, finally uninstalling every piece of Asus software on my system.
The only major change I made was to update the BIOS to 2203 (see my specs) and install the latest AMD chipset drivers, which I have an odd feeling may be the culprits as I seem to remember a similar problem last year, but rolled back those drivers, which I think solved it. I don't keep a log of everything I do.
But I'm not in the mood for any more of that, today.
I've reported this to the ROG community and there are heaps of others who have the same problem.
Very annoying that they can't fix Aura.

Good evening... tonight I stumbled across the solution to this... install gpu tweak 2 from asus website. Once done open it and click tools near the top right then select aura and install here. You now have control over your graphics card lights again

Thanks for the tip, but GPU Tweak is also buggy, so in the end, I rolled back to Aura 1.06.17 and so far the RGB works, albeit having to hit refresh once in a while.
