I have 2 gbps plan and dont know why my asus router cant output that speed. It has a 2.5gb port and I see only 1gbps out to my desktop. Any idea?

The most likely reason is your desktop adapter is only capable of 10/100/1000Mbps (1Gbps).
Nah , I plug the wire directly from a modem to my desktop and it works fine over 1gbps. Maybe I plug to the wrong port on the router. I plug the cable from a modem to a wan port on a router and 2.5gb port from a router to a desktop. Maybe I need to switch those 2. Will try when I get back at home. But no idea why att gateway show over 2000 speed down/up but at my computer, only download is over 2000, upload is only 1000. Is it cable issue or somethin?

Both ends "handshake" and settle on the speed. You cannot have one end of the cable running at one speed and the other end of the same cable at a different speed.

Ethernet cables are cheap, flimsy but critical network devices. Trying another cable hurts nothing. And router ports can go bad too. And don't forget ultimately the router's Ethernet ports and the router's wifi side all share what the ISP (and your modem) are providing.

Its the router. There is no 2.5gb output.
