Asus-boards and PWM-fans - Pulsing issue?

Hi guys!

I have a weird problem regarding PWM-fans and Asus boards. I can never have a constant fan speed setting applied, either through AI Suite or UEFI. The fans stay a while at a set RPM and then gives a slight pulse (increased speed for a second).

Lets say I set it at 700 RPM, the fans stay at 700 RPM and quickly switches to say 1000-1200 rpm about every ~15 seconds for just half a second~ish.

This happens with three motherboards and different fans. Z170I Pro Gaming, Rampage IV Black Edition and X99-E WS. Fans are EK Vardars, Thermaltake TY-100 and some Noiseblockers. Going to try my Noctuas as soon as possible as well.

Has anyone any idea on what can cause this? And does anyone else have the same problem? It's incredibly annoying and Im seconds away from ordering a dedicated fan controller to fix it.
