do i need to reinstall drivers? i didnt and they showed immediatedly in gpuz

if they showed up then you probably don't need to reinstall. it's never certain. all computers are different

I just want to make something clear to everyone... i have sucessfully and easily unlocked my 6950 Direct CU II from Asus,. I used the RBE and Atiwinflash.

I have also replaced the TIM. with AS5 and knocked 7 degrees off my idle .. it idles at 29 and my rt is 23.

Also note that mine was purchased dec 2011, and the switch on the card, is a dual bios switch. when i switch it over 1408 shaders, back to the right and 1536 shaders... Just to clarify.

My card doesnt overclock particularly well, did'nt even before i did the unlock.. my best is 935 1350 with shaders unlocked @ 1.2v. I can go higher but it gets far too hot..

okay found better stability with the 6970 bios from here:

now sat at 1.2v 940/1400 with the shaders unlocked, and no crashes.. happy with this.. although may possibly see if i can swap it for a twin frozr II from msi as they clock better
