Judging by those pics, that's an almost 4 Slot cooler
Yes it is, seems to be 3.5 slot.

SLI is dead any ways so no worries about thickness, just give us quiet good performing 25MM thick fans.

This is the way GPUs need to go, just normal Case Fans that can easily be replaced if needed.

Not to mention these have like 50% better cooling performance at half the noise levels compared to those garbage 10MM thick fans.

Also SLI is long dead, so no need to worry about card thickness, just give us GPUs with Case Fans.

My current 1070 has three Noctua NF-A9's, it never goes above 52C with the fans at just 700 RPM... dead silent.
How you fix the fans to the gpu?

The first "leak" image were much better. This looks horrible in comparison..
Personally I think this looks much better than the fan made render...

Still I can hardly believe they went with the Nocuta brown. I don't really mind using regular Noctua fans in a neutral build with mostly black components but if anything has any sort of color scheme going on the brown looks pretty horrible in my opinion so this card is really going to clash if you don't plan accordingly.

Man this is an awesome card and I cant believe it has taken this long to partner with Noctua. Too bad no one will actually be able to buy the card, or any other 3080 without selling your soul to Lucifer himself.

I, too, am shocked that they went with Noctua's signature colour scheme on a product where the entire selling point is that it's a collaboration with Noctua. I had $100 on it being bright green with pink highlights.

the usual noucta design

in its uglyness it has its own beauty
At least Noctua themselves minimise the chocolate poop brown color to the fans and anti-vibration rubbers on the corner. ASUS on the other hand embraced the poop. Framed the card's whole silhouette in Noctua brown poop.

This would look so much better with their grey redux fans. Why they chose to this to go with brown fans is beyond belief.

The fans cost 0.02% of the total gpu price now, as soon as the gpu market crashes, it will cost 30% ehhe

Well it will be cool and quite and hopefully comes in chromax if not at least you can dye the fans but it's still gonna be ugly.

Disappointing, nothing special here really... I would even say ASUS's Axel fans look like it can outperform these in static pressure.
Those are Noctua NF-A12x25s. Not the best fans around, but more or less tied for the best 120x25mm fans out there with the Arctic P12 in terms of combined performance and low noise. Plenty of static pressure, plenty of airflow, very low noise. The arctics are very nearly as good at less than half the price, but the Noctuas are still fantastic. Only fans conclusively better are the new 30mm-thick Phanteks ones.

Well, you wouldn't want your car to be diarrhoea colour tan and brown, would you? ;) If we're talking about an object that you look at every day, aesthetics do matter, imo. It has always boggled my mind that Noctua chose the (probably) ugliest colour combination to be used on their products. This has been my only reason to avoid them, just as I'll give this graphics card a hard pass too. Not only does its colour evoke bodily functions unrelated to computers, but it also looks too thick and heavy.
This is extremely personal. I absolutely don't care about my car's colour, I actually got what they had on hand, I don't like waiting. I always wondered, and I'm not trying to be critical or anything, do people spend time looking at their computer in awe for hours? The fans on my GPU can be green and pink for all I care, as long as they're quiet and keep temperatures low. For me it's always about performance when it comes to hardware, I have a wife for aesthetic value.

That's how the NF-A12x25's fan hub looks. It's a common feature seen across other fans with similarly large hubs as well. There's likely an engineering reason for it (could be balancing, could be lowering rotating mass, could be the difficulty of moulding around that lock ring, could be anything really. I don't mind - it's a sign of a certain design style of high end fans (see for example Nidec Gentle Typhoon, EK Vardar, etc.).
Hi,
None of my noctua fans look like that nor any others I've ever bought
I'd return any fan or gpu that looked that piss poorly assembled.

You went through a lot to condone the lazy manufacturing though kudos for the effort lol

The history channel should make a documentary about this obscure artifact known as interchangable gpu fans.

My evga 3070Ti is pretty quiet.. and puts out 320+w. But my other fans get kinda rowdy so it’s hard to say.. I wouldn’t buy that one though.

Edit:

If they made it phat like my 980 Classified.. you need a screwdriver to install it.. and it’s a 2 slot card which would be better for 25mm fans..

Hi,
Any card I get would also be on water so fans aren't huge deal but sloppy manufacturing really annoys me
Doubt this gpu is even a real item
Even asus which are the highest priced gpu's doesn't have this bad of quality control.

From the looks of things, about a third of the airflow do not even reach the heatsink. Also, a lot of the heatsink probably gets no airflow. Genius. Guess what happens if all the airflow from some Noctuas are forced through the entire heatsink? (spoiler: I know what happens)

If you live in proximity of Oslo Norway, or is willing to pay for shipping your card round-trip to me, I will be happy to make a you a free 3D-printed duct for your GFX. I will then sell copies of that duct, or license it for printing for 3$ a copy.

Using 120 A25, expect about 700rpm for a rx 6600 xt. Using stock D15 fans, expect 450rpm for a rx 6600 xt. That gives you about the same temps, as a stock MSI gaming X rx 6600 xt @1400rpm. Just be warned, as we all know by now, the stock D15 fan has a faint low frequency hum to it. Using the 120 a25, you will get all that wonderful VRM noise, as VRM noise will completely dwarf the fan noise, but at least for my current copy, it is really not that bad at all. Best GFX VRM I have ever had, and I have had a few low noise setups by now.

In case you missed it. Using two 140mm noctua fans, I cool my MSI Gaming X rx 6600xt @ about 450rpm vs stock @ about 1400rpm. But you will not get anywhere near that, with the duct used in the article images.

If you want RGB, lets just say that this is the better disco. You can pick any RGB fan you want, and almost any 14cm RGB fan and most 12cm RGB fan, will outperform a stock fan on noise.

I sort of have no fan noise issue anymore, as my PSU runs semi passive, and my case is a custom design without any case fans. Funny what some pieces of plastics can do, if you know what you are doing. Going live with this shortly.
