Wow -- the Linux version comes with twice the capacity in it's built-in flash drive.

Sign of flash drive prices dropping incredibly or is Windows not subsidizing installations on these new Eee PC's?

I think this looks like a good laptop and a nice improvement over the first model. Is it being sold yet?

Looks very nice, but I'll be waiting for one that uses the Intel Atom Centrino platform; it'd have more battery life and be much faster than the current Pentium-M models. The Atom version will probably (hopefully) include a touchscreen into its design: Tablet EEE PC mods everywhere!

Yes, and only the price for Atom CPU & Poulsbo SCH is 45 - 160$ . This CPU is for PPC like iPhone. I think that the CPU in Eee PC will be Intel A110 (800 MHz) - former 90 nm Dothan Pentium M. It's new thermal design is 3 watt, and it is more powerful then current Atom. Not so bad!

Ok... the A110 Dothan, Pentium M, 90 nm... More powerful than the Atom? Ok; the Atom CPUs with a 533 MHz FSB run at 1.66 GHz and 1.86 GHz, and can also run hyperthreading! And the Pentium M @ 800 MHz is more powerful? I don't think so.

Saddly it is true. The 1.6GHz Single Core Atom is slower than a 900MHz Celeron M in single threaded applications, which is what will be most of the applications run on UMPCs. The Hyperthreaded and Dual-Core Atom processors will pull ahead in multi-threaded apps, but in the UMPC area people don't run a whole lot of multi-threaded apps. The problem is that conversion between RISC and CISC needed to run normal applications on the very simply Atom processor.

Wow, that sucks. Well, at least this version doesn't have the underclock in place: the Pentium M runs at the full 900 MHz instead of 630!

I have just seen a video review of HP Mini (HP2133). In few words : Eee PC is just like a cheap toy in front of Mini . HP Mini is far better built then Eee PC and I am sure that consumers will appreciate it as well. So, there is a new King of UMPC market - HP Mini.

How much does the HP Mini cost? By the looks of it there isn't a very big trackpad, and it doesn't have the good looks of the EEE. Also, It sounds like it has a hard drive, which is not good if you want something that you can throw into your bag while still running. It weighs more than the EEE, and will be running Vista! *Shudder*, can you imagine Vista on 1.6 GHz? It may not even be that, as they say "up to 1.6 GHz".
I'd still buy an EEE over the HP.

According to DailyTech it won't actually be on sale until 12th May - and the price tag will be $549.

I should really have titled it ASUS Announces... rather than ASUS Launches...
