ASUS Launches Its ROG Bezel-Free Kits for Multi-monitor Configurations

Monitors being hailed as bezel-free is one of those gimmicks of which you know as soon as you read that listed feature. While some monitors carry bezels as thin as one can imagine, the fact of the matter is that there is always some extra material on the edges of the panel, which will always detract from a multi-monitor experience. Back in 2018, ASUS showcased a Bezel-free kit that would be available for sale. The workings are simple: align your monitors at a certain angle (130º is what ASUS recommends), use the transparent (PET + film) material on bezels that are less than 13 mm, attach the clips to the bottom and top of your monitors, and voila. By the miracle of refraction, your bezels will disappear, while your monitor's images will be extended, seamlessly transitioning between monitors.

This is an interesting solution, and certainly of value for gamers on multi-monitor systems. Keep in mind your screen diagonals will have to be smaller than 27" for this piece of technology to work. The ASUS ROG Bezel-Free Kit is now available at $110 a pop.

I'm assuming they're fresnel lenses... Fresnel lenses can be fun, I have a 60" square fresnel lens that focuses to a point and I believe the point reaches at least 2000° Celsius.... I can literally weld and liquify steel with it.... Currently I'm using 3x3 array of 30" square fresnel lenses focuses onto an air to liquid heat exchanger linked to a fluid circuit filled with motor oil that itself connects to a fluid to fluid heat exchanger to heat water in a Radiator circuit to heat my workshop.... Once it's done I might work in a steam turbine system to generate electricity and trickle charge a battery bank to power my workshop... I like tinkering with DIY, off grid power generation

I'm not ganna lie, I came here for the bezel trickery but find myself no less than 168x more interested in this comment...lol. We need a write up with pictures/video in the forum of this thing in action

edit: Err sorry... to keep on topic with the article, I will be keeping my ultrawide in lieu of the funky bezel eliminators.

I probably would have paid $50 for this tech back in 2009 with the first release of eyefinity.
Now it has to compete with ultrawides and 4k gaming TVs...

Yeah it's totally a decade too late. They could have sold triple packs of monitors with it and made a dent in sales back then.

rather get an ultrawide monitors coz at that point, a 21:9 or 32:9 monitors look much more worthy to spend money on.

I've seen it first person, this is ONLY good for a dedicated gaming setup - it sticks out like a sore thumb for any regular desktop, or watching any media on the middle screen.

Surround monitor setups are crazy expensive....if you just want wider then buy Samsung Odyssey 49" 32:9 or LG UltraGear 38WN95C 21:9 to get that full FOV aspect.

I bought the LG UltraGear 38GL950G-B 21:9 monitor last year I'll tell you I'll never go back to 16:9 ...just feels boxy now.

The hole Ultra Wide thing is good as they say.... It's fantastic

@ToxicTaZ you can say that again. As I too have moved to the ultrawide master race, I don't think I can see 16:9 monitors the same ever again. Since LG's 29WK600 is super-affordable, getting an entry into ultrawide monitors is not that difficult.
