ASUS Launches the Latest Z7S WS with Superb Expansion Options

Benchmark Scores I've fried plenty o' parts when not OCing. Need to start doing it again to avoid problems...
At first it might sound totally sweet, but on second view:
1. There is not enough room between the first two PCI-X expansion slots so no dual-slot cooling for X-fire...
2. The CPU sockets are extremely close together and the chipset heatsinks are so big there's hardly any room for an aftermarket cooling system.

agreed. using PCI-E blocks the PCI-X (i'm sure SOMEONE cares about that) and the sockets are quite close. quite hard to tell from the pics, but i'm sure two narrow 120mm tower coolers would fit side by side.

Well, there is only 1 PCI-X slot, I bet you mean PCIe. Besides that the cards will fit, you just lose the PCI-X slot. Which could be replaced by the x8 slot easily, though when using PCI-X controllers like myself x-fire isn't an option.

Besides, there isn't much choice for after market cooling on s771 in the first place.

could a motherboard do neither, that has 2 pcie x16? is the intel 5400 chipset xfire only?!?

theres a whole paragraph there about 'Multiple High Speed Expansion Slots'
so users can accomplish more in less time, its too brief and not informative at all.
