2 x 5870x2 will come to less than £900.

2 x MARS = £2000+

You could build multiple i7 machines, or have 2 of these.

Ahh $100 to take my wife out with :).. But my point was you most likley be able to get 2 5870x2's that thing..

Or a system and a 5870x2 or very close too.

The hexus review was good. I'd like to see more variety of benchmarks as well as different clock speeds.. Also, an overclocked cpu would be nice. I figured that a few of these cards would go out to specific reviewers before other people get them.. Going to post as many benches as I can. Overclocked and stock.. Maybe even do a video to showcase. Looking forward to it you guys! :)

I think I know why the review lacked the usual multiple comparisons: HEXUS wanted to get a scoop on it and testing takes a long time, so they cut it down. Perhaps they'll do a fuller review in time? Who knows.

So, does this mean that you've actually got your two yet? Looking at those HEXUS pictures, they're gigantic! They're so tall, that I can just see a smaller case not closing over them...

Still waiting on asus to get them out.. Feel like this is taking forever.. I'll be 100 years old before they get here lol! What is a good resolution for testing benches besides the obvious.. What resolution do most people have.. Get a good comparison. :)

With cards like that 1920x1200 should be the minimum resolution used. Most people (using widescreen) are on 1680x1050. So 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 for sure.:)

Yeah, what erocker said. Beat me to it. :)

I reckon you should throw in one old game such as Unreal Tournament (1999 version) at 640x480 in SLI no AA no AF, minimum quality just for laughs, lol. But on second thoughts, the frame rate would be so high, that they might burn out... so maybe not.

I got 1000 fps once when looking straight at a wall. But the power components on my GTX 285 were screaming...

So they do, Hoss.

Looking more closely at the card on the Asus website, I see that everyone - and that includes me - has got the name of this card wrong!

It's not a MARS GTX 295, MARS 285 or whatever, just Asus ROG MARS.

Here it is directly from Asus: http://event.asus.com/vga/2009/rog_mars/fastest/

Man i expected more from you, think of it like this, this card is a special edition prototype concept, but one you can actually buy! This card is expensive because of the research and uniqueness

yeah but research and uniqueness only go so far... this card = fail. Why? It's basically a $1300 GTX295OC.

They get an "A" for effort, but other than that, it just shows how good nvidia's engineers are, that ASUS tried SO hard to beat their reference and failed in the end. One review even stated that the card put up higher numbers but felt jerkier than the 295 (forget which game).

You are looking at it as a sales perspective, not a marketing perspective. I for one look at it as a good move to show that asus will go extra mile for their products, not just slapping a sticker and calling it theirs.
The card has performance as expected from a SLI of GTX285, and look at DriverHeaven review, they were able to play at resolutions where the 295 simply ran out of memory.
I´m not saying i would consider buying it, but remember there are only 1000, i sure bet that there are 1000 people willing to buy the card even if its just for show/price.
I just liked that they tried, maybe they will get better and we will se more exclusive asus cards
