Hi, I've installed my new system:

1 CoolerMaster V6GT CPU Cooler $64.00
1 Intel Core i5 2500K $229.00
1 ASUS Radeon 6970 DirectCU II 2GB $429.00
1 Corsair TX-750 V2 Power Supply $145.00
1 ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 Motherboard $135.00
1 Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8R 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3

I was wondering what should i overclock my CPU to and how? and also what should i overclock my GPU to? (iknow how) its on 890MHz GPU clock, 1375MHz memory clock atm

Thanks! max.

I assume this is for gaming? You don't need to overclock your processor. You don't really give a reason as to why you would need to overclock. So, no I wouldn't bother. A stock 2500K is fine.

Leave the memory and try get the core to about 940mhz. If thats stable u can go up from there and remember to check temps. 940 is a pretty good stock standard result. With the cpu id go between 4-4.5ghz on stock voltage. If u can go higher then sweet.

Because the memory doesnt do squat. The core is what u want. At least on these cards anyway. If your keen u can push the memory to 1500mhz but my opinion is to leave it.

pushing memory sometimes is kinda gambling, its much easier pushing processor ( say it 15%) than pushing mem 15% and stay stable

A 10% GPU overclock could equate to a 5% increase in FPS, while a 10% memory overclock would be closer to a 1% increase in FPS.

Double check using CPU-Z or CPUID HW monitor what voltage your MB is applying for that auto overclock. Some boards have been known to pump through higher than recommended / required voltages. This could be detrimental to your CPU's lifespan (especially so in the case of the SB series).

Personally as this is a new build I would leave everything at stock until you are happy that everything has "bedded in". A unstable OC is the last thing you want when you are trying to diagnose a issue surrounding drivers / new hardware instals.
