The ASUS RX 5500 XT STRIX OC is their most premium entry-level Navi design. The large triple-slot, dual-fan cooler achieves outstanding temperatures and is whisper quiet at the same time. Fan stop is included too, and the VRM design is overbuilt, which could explain the good OC results we're seeing.

This is a joke.

20% faster at same price with EVGA’s better warranty and Nvidia’s better driver.

You gotta be stupid in love with RTG to buy this GPU

This card must be $140 MAX.

AMD has never positioned its cards so badly :kookoo:

Probably they do it intentionally in order to promote the RX 570 for $120, and their contracts with GLOBALFOUNDRIES.

What a waste of aluminum.

It helps to keep the card a champion in the noise comparisons charts. 28 dB at full load is pretty good.
It has so low power consumption for so large heatsink.

AMD wants Navi 2X.

The $230 price tag, by the way, could be justified by some ability to overclock and raise that stock performance in line with GTX 1660S.

Edit: Are they really tested with the old Radeon 20.1.1 Beta driver and Radeon 19.10.1 WHQL?

That depends on you are because lower end cards are still good for a budget LoL, CS and so on that's where the cards are being used expect the really low end that are just functions as an adapter.

Even the 5700XT is meaningless, I mean people keep lubricating the fact that 5700XT offer more bang for buck than Nvidia's offering but within AMD line up, 5700 XT is the same as Vega 56 in almost every aspect (fps/dollar, power consumption, features) but is slightly faster overall. AMD knew this and pretty much gave every reviewer a guideline not to pitch 5700XT against Vega 56 in price/performance...Furthermore Navi's driver are probably still in alpha testing state...

Except the cost for manufacturing. Navi 10 with conventional GDDR (6) is cheaper than Vega 10 with HBM 2.

Furthermore Navi's driver are probably still in alpha testing state...

What is so special about Navi that its drivers can be in a so dire state ?

So here is how a lot of tech reviewer presented Turing "OMG Turing offer zero perf/dollar benefit vs Pascal, it sucks" but then never even mention about 5700XT vs Vega 56 price/performance...it is pure hypocrisy I tell ya.

First gen Navi driver is about as good as GCN driver back in 7970 days, it's not so pretty. AMD pretty much asked fans to be beta tester for free...aka AMD Vanguard, over at Guru3D forums I have seen these AMD Vanguarder going around employing more people....

If you see the graph properly you will see that Turing is still poor performence per watt. There is no card with similar performence of RX 5700 XT beyond that 100% performence per doller. Is the performence per doller is based on MRSP or current price??

I got flamed on an Anandtech 5500XT product reveal by stating the fact that the 1660S is simply better in value even if it's $50 more expensive. 5500XT and it's defenders are such a joke.

Well I'm kinda going off topic atm but this concern 5500 XT as well, if you compare Navi to Polaris and Vega, Navi are much worse in performance/ dollar metric. Yet when Techtuber (not TPU) compare Navi to Turing, all of a sudden performance/dollar become the most important metric, ignoring every else that Nvidia offer (RTX, DLSS, Nvenc, Mature drivers)

So 5700XT buyers (and Navi in general) are a very specific group of buyers that only care about price to performance when it suits them, if people want absolute performance, they go Nvidia, if people care about price/perf, go Vega 56 (or RX 580).

Well RX Vega 56 or RX 580 is not available in every where nowdays.
Also you cant take price of ASUS card as base for RX 5500 XT. There are RX 5500 XT with 8GB ram available at 200$.

There is nothing wrong with this card as a budget gaming solution. Unfortunately Asus has applied their brand tax to the equation and made this card something that only the most ignorant rookie would buy for a PC build. But I guess if you want the full Strix lineup you could pair this up with the B450 (which is $189 on Amazon!!!???).

I only use that chart as it is from the latest 5500XT review, I was talking specifically about Vega 56 and RX 580 performance per dollar metric...

Your off your nut mate..My 5700 xt is a good bit faster than my 56 ever was..However the 5500 xt IMO should have never been released due to price / performance.
