ASUS is readying one of its first motherboards based on the AMD 880G chipset, the M4A88TD-V EVO / USB3. This model comes in two variants, with or without USB 3.0 support, designated with the -USB3 suffix in the model name. It is a socket AM3 motherboard, supporting the upcoming line of Phenom II X6 and Phenom II X4 T series processors. The CPU socket is powered by a 10-phase VRM, it is wired to four DDR3 DIMM slots for dual-channel memory. Even as ATI CrossFire is not part of the 880G's feature-set since it won't support an external PCI-Express lane switch like the 890GX, ASUS found a way around and provided a second PCI-Express x16 slot, only that this one is electrical PCI-Express 1.1 x4, wired to the SB800 southbridge chip.

It's the basic G series, it's not meant to have CF, theres already a 890GX you can get over here for $119, thats really cheap for CF, and after the 880G's are out the 885's will be out and some will have CF for a bit less.

Please look at prices for 890GX 890FX 790FX and simular solutions.

Take a look at P55 prices. :)
890GX - £88-130
890FX - cant find a price on these yet
790FX - £100-140

P55 - £70 - 170

------

asside from Phenom X4 II 965BE's being around £140/150 - for an extra £10-20 you can get a i5 processor which will overclock beyond the 965 & totally thrash it at games & benchmarks.

so your point is??

790X motherboards can be picked up at 70 quid, dont look at overclockers, they are overpriced idiots.
and im not comparing cpu prices, motherboard prices are motherboard prices. 890GX competes with P55 in pci-e lanes, pci-e performance and all that, and got IGP with sideport aswell, which P55 doesnt, i think its rather cheap for amds boards.

Didnt say their deals for high end builders was better at all.

Its quite funny how norway is sooo much more expensive at everything, but UK still doesnt manage to keep computer part prices down, isnt very comparable anymore since the pound sterling is falling like a french airplane :)
Good for me tho.

same nb specs except amd got IGP aswell :)

As for mobo specs vs prices, its never been better :D

Does anyone know if there will ever be a board with low end 58XX compatible graphics card?
That would make me verry happy in the CFX department with a 5850 for gaming and onboard for all the rest. Maybe even integrated Tv-Tuner. (to create a super all in wonder setup)
