ASUS today released its premium 27-inch monitor, the ProArt PA27UCX. The monitor is designed to look great on corner-office desks, and packs a serious feature-set. To begin with, you get 4K UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution, with DisplayHDR 1000 compliance, true 10-bpc color (1.07 billion colors), with DCI-P3, Rec. 709, Rec. 2020 and Adobe RGB wide color gamut, and color accuracy pre-calibration. The IPS panel is illuminated by micro LEDs featuring 576 zones dynamic dimming backlight control. HDR-10 and HLG are also supported. As part of the monitor's design, it only has a single USB-C connector with DisplayPort 1.4 and 60W power draw. A hub adapts standard DisplayPort and an included power-brick.

Because, 60Hz...
They also have a 32" model of this - https://www.asus.com/Monitors/ProArt-PA32UCX/

Yes the 32" is much better but I have two concerns with it:

A) It's Asus and I really wonder how good panel uniformity is going to be and how customer service is going to respond (in Europe) in case of a lemon or any issue..
B) Judging by the current ProArt line-up, I won't be surprised if it is $3,500 or more...so no thanks, I will wait.

well first off, those who criticized me - the fact you are not excited that micro led is in production = big shame on you, regardless of other specs that is huge news, just as good as OLED and no burn in risk and lower price to manufacture...

second off - since author of article got it wrong, mini led not micro led... eh. nevermind i don't care anymore.

They should make 43" version at least.

Would evaporate all wannabe-HDR TVs. :D

It may be mini-led but it only has 576 zones which is only a moderate improvement. Really need to hit 5,000+ and 10,000+ that was promised to come.

The 32" model has over 1,000 LEDs, if that helps.

The 32" model has over 1,000 LEDs, if that helps.

These are Pro monitors with Hardware calibration + pro color spaces (Adobe RGB) so don't expect them to care about high refresh rates...

They are trying to attract the attention of Pro users that resort to $20-30,000 HDR Pro monitors for color grading but this ain't going to happen either since they offer nowhere near what is required by that crowd. Not even remotely....

I really wonder what does Asus expect to sell and to who with these units.

Well, the only thing I hope, is that Asus will offer just the LCD. Primary reason why 32" model is so darn expensive is because it is bundled with X-rite X1. Without it it would easily cost 1000 USD less (or even more Euros).

I understand that photographers need that, but no everybody is into photography.
