ASUS Reveals Its GeForce RTX 3060 ROG STRIX Graphics Card

ASUS today revealed their latest flagship iteration on the NVIDIA RTX 3060, the ASUS RTX 3060 ROG STRIX. the graphics card follows ASUS' tried and true ROG STRIX design with a triple-fan cooling solution (that features 0 dB technology when in light use) and an RGB strip detailing alongside the shroud. The RTX 3060 ROG STRIX features a single 8-pin power connector, palatable for this card's expected performance profile, and the company has managed to decrease the footprint of their cooling solution to a 2.7-slot design, which should be more than enough for the card's 170 W TDP.

ASUS has fitted the card with an abundance of connectors that are sure to stand the test of time: 2x HDMI 2.1, and 3x DisplayPort 1.4. ASUS expects the card to be available near the end of February, in both OC and non-OC versions. No word on pricing was available at time of writing - though it will surely be higher than NVIDIA's $329 MSRP.

Efficiency on this line up is not very good. Considering a RTX 3060 uses same power as a stronger RX 6800. And I know someone Will Say that you cant buy them anyway, but Im just making comments about power usage on this gen GPUs from NVIDIA.

Somehow I'm not entirely unhappy about that happening. The cost of RT has no place in a market of scarce product.

MSRP of a TUF 6800xt is 1k sooo its all the cards because Asus is manufacturing in China...
Evga is in Taiwan and Could undercut but I think they are just going to enjoy the extra margins.

Best buy still has reference msi and xfx at msrp. but whats funny is merc 6800xt is 1049 and merc 6900xt is 1099 lol.

In Best Buy US maybe... here in Europe the situation is quite different.
6800 are nowhere to be seen and the few you can find are ridiculously priced.

I have a 6800 and in apex I'm locked to 144fps.
came from a V64 which didn't do 144 fps at 1440P at 300W, now total board power sits between 80-100W at 144fps.. like vega isn't a good comparison but damn it's efficient!
