Videocardz has done it again, and have gotten their hands on manufacturer's images of as of yet unreleased graphics cards. This time, it's ASUS' products that have been brought to the limelight, with not one, but two custom versions of their upcoming GeForce GTX 1070 Ti graphics cards being pictures next to their retail boxes.

The first graphics card is the 1070 Ti Turbo (TURBO-GTX1070TI-8G), which like most ASUS Turbo models, should be among the cheapest 1070 Ti options - it forfeits any additional engineering besides NVIDIA's reference design, and adds ASUS' Turbo blower-type cooler. The 1070 Ti STRIX (ROG-STRIX-GTX1070TI-A8G-GAMING), on the other hand, is a custom-engineered version of the GTX 1070 (GP-104) silicon, and should come with the same higher margins as other ASUS custom products. A mainstay of ASUS STRIX designs is the presence of Aura Sync RGB lighting control, and a triple-fan configuration, which should bring operating temperatures down considerably. We should start seriously considering the chance that we'll see an as of yet unannounced NVIDIA graphics card actually launch with custom partner designs before custom versions of AMD's Vega graphics cards ever hit the retail channel. Though to be fair, it's much easier for AIB partners to simply recycle NVIDIA custom designs for this particular graphics card than design an entirely new one for AMD's Vega.

This is GTX 1070Ti, so it's a new card. I'm just not sure if there is really place for one. People can decide between 1070 and 1080 just fine.

No its not a new card, it is a slightly tweeked, somewhat altered VARIATION of the long since released 1070....which is just a variation of the 1080xxx, 1060xxx, and 1050xxx, with different specs...but underneath, they are all based on the same gpu architechure, albeit with more or less vram and connection ports, fan configs, etc...

There's quite steep performance gap between gtx1080 and gtx1070. Vega⁶⁴ and gtx1080 are quite close competitors, while Vega⁵⁶ beats gtx1070 more often than equals it. If it's priced right, it will be a good card.

I dunno about you guys, but I'm sick of all these options.... Just send me a video card in the mail and garnish my paycheck for whatever you think is fair. (sarcasm)

So according to you, they should only release one card per chip. OK...

Good thing you don't actually run a company cause it will be going bankrupt.

No, all I am saying is that instead of wasting their time, and ours, perhaps they could at least try to actually come up with something that IS new, and not just another regurgitated recycle of what already exists...

Right now, there SO many variations of the same underlying tech that it could potentially take weeks of dazed and confused research just to make sure you are actually getting the features and options you really want or need...choosing pc parts should not be that hard

I am all for choice of brands, specs and price points, but enough is enough already, not just with gpus, but also cpus, mobos, ram etc etc....

And Fyi, I AM part of a billion dollar company, which is very successful and profitable, but we didn't get that way by trying to do something 100 different ways and then acting like we innovated better than or out-smarted everyone else in our industry...

Benchmark Scores 3050 scores good 15-20% lower than average, despite ASUS's claims that it has uber cooling.
