We take a look at our first ASUS keyboard, and it just happens to be their flagship, the ROG Strix Flare. Featuring options galore, be it via Cherry MX RGB switch options, profiles and onboard controls, or software driver customization over functions and lighting alike, it makes for a strong impression of the brand in the crowded keyboard market.

The thing with Asus's software on Windows 10 is it doesnt work half the time.

No issues here, which is really all I can go off.

Well, Im having trouble installing Asus Probe and Asus Aura doesnt work half the time and constantly resets my settings. This is a fresh install of win 10 too after my previous install got wrecked by a failed 1809 update

So what you're saying is that it's a bit like the Corsair iCUE software. It's possible that I'm just stupid, but I find their UI/UX terrible and some simple things (like saving profiles to the device memory) is really hard to do. You shouldn't have to RTFM to do these things. It took me a good half an hour to set the colour I wanted and save it to a profile in iCUE...
Their software also doesn't scale well on a 4K screen, so everything is microscopic.

Never used Corsair software even when i had their keyboards or AIOs and PSUs so i dont know. I know that windows 10 has a lot to do with it though because with earlier builds Asus Aura used to work just fine and i had no issues with Asus PC Probe

As someone who has seen well over 50 different software drivers, iCUE is my favorite to be honest. No issues scaling here, although I do set my display scaled higher given I sit back further (it's large).

Wow, the world of keyboard software is in a dire place then...

Most peripherals are still fine with USB 2.0, to be fair. So if you wanted to connect the pass-through port to a mouse or headset, it won't be an issue.

Don’t even get me started with AISuite. I literally need it for my special fans on my Sabertooth. One Windows Update rendered it useless and ASUS put out a replacement that didn’t even see a single thing on my board. Thankfully a later update brought it back to life but I still have to “nudge it” every reboot but I leave my PC on 24/7 but AISuite is a necessary cancer for me...

Do the 'keybot' shortcuts: CPU OC, Ram oc, rog SYNC, bOOT uP, AND bOOT TO bios, WORK WITH, p.e. Rampage VI Apex boards? Does it depend on the used USB I/O panel port, which then?

Doesn't look good.

And the Fan Profiles?

ops, sorry, but indeed I got the Asus Claymore (for less money) on this same day, and it has this Armoury II software... which looks cool, but has hardly any use except Macros, Fans speeds and Volume. The functions I name above are gimmicks.
I'll leave it here, sir :)
