ASUS Showcases ROG Ryujin II AIO Cooler With 3.5" LCD Display

ASUS has showcased an update to their ROG Ryujin AIO, which features an LCD display that's far increased in size compared to the original's 1.77" OLED. The ROG Ryiujin 2 features a redesign of the OLED screen component (now an LCD, likely due to OLED burn-in) sitting on top of the CPU waterblock, now measuring in at a whopping 3.5", that can be user-configured to showcase ROG pre-installed graphics, system data such as temperatures, voltages, and etc, or even user-created graphics.

The ROG Ryujin II looks much the same as its predecessor, barring the new larger display. While the original sold at an MSRP of $220, the ROG Ryujin II will likely retail for higher than that. While the cooler features RGB lighting capabilities, ROG elected to showcase it in a more subdued approach, marrying the LCD graphics with the black aesthetics of its ROG Maximus Z590 Hero motherboard. A beautiful AIO loop, to be sure, although the expectedly high pricing may give would-be buyers some pause.

Well for some this is probably neat. But not for me. I am going aircooling on my next system. With that screen, this aio is probably also quite expensive.

Yeah nothing like burn in on a aio which is also happening on z490 boards with their little oled panel thankfully I switched to a apex that doesn't have that oled nonsense.

The PR image says LCD, not OLED.

Still, I could see this as useful for a headless home server, if they allow for its use as an actual monitor. Just need a TG or acrylic-equipped case

The previous version does have a fan in the head unit that blows on the vrm, I assume this one does too. I tweeted Asus ROG about this on the 12th when I found it inside their Citadel virtual expo app/game. I just got the previous 360 version so I might need to send it back and get the new one, if they have a 360.

I actually made use of their original Ryujin block; salvaged from a friend after the pump died, just cutting off the rads and using a spare copper rad and DDC pump (w/ fresh coolant). Yeah, the OLED burn it was pretty bad, but I wanted it mainly for the VRM fan, which worked pretty well. Cost me less than the Arctic Liquid Freezer AIO, but to be fair, the spare rad and DDC+res were carryovers from an old cooling project.

The Ryujin II would be decent if it still retains the VRM fan, and the LCD could be used just for the usual temperature readout.

I can see it as being semi-usable if it can be used as an Aida64 LCD, but the location makes it useless for me personally (my computer is on a testbench behind the monitor so I wouldn't see it anyway). As it is, seems to me like a not very practical way to cheaply add aesthetic appeal. I'd prefer something like an integrated flow meter, liquid in and out temperature sensors - you know, something actually useful.

Pfft, who needs a high end CPU or GPU? Just spend a third of your budget on the AIO. Seems smart.
