Hi guys

I just bought this mobo which I'll receive today, does anyone on here have one of these boards? I was wondering if it'll do the job when paired with a 6700k or 7700k? I'll of course look to do some overclocking.

I've just started a complete computer refresh as I'm using the old 2500k which is still fairly competitive even today, infact my 480 bottlenecks it in those GPU intensive titles :/ but a 1080 should suffice once the 1080ti releases.

Good times for computer tech me thinks!

your 2500k is bad in battlefield1, i have seen it on a 970 (480 would be similar performance i guess)

if you already bought it, what can we say? isnt strix one of their decent at minimum series? should be fine

is 7700 cheaper than 6700? might as well go kaby, consider it a factory overclock, maybe dont even bother with serious overclocking (like 5ghz)

I decided to buy it as I've heard ASUS do good boards when they work that is, even if it doesn't work out I can always opt for something better.

I'm eyeing up an i5 6600k right now along with an i7 6700k, price to performance ratios seem to greatly favour the 6600k.

I wouldn't go overboard on the overclocking anyway no, turbo boost would suit me when paired with a decent cooler.

i5 6600k/7600k paired with RX480 for gaming, you can't go wrong!

However if you also want to use your PC for video editing or other CPU intensive stuff you should go with i7 6700k/7700k.
If you can save some money with buying "older" Skylake, why not, they perform just as good.

I'll be using my system for raw gaming to be honest, I don't do any video editing anymore so I don't need the extra performance in that regard.
The price gap between them is rather appetising in the end.

Go the 7600K mate.

Faster clock for clock, better OC and the price difference would be negligible.
