i cant help having this feeling the 5850 wont be on sale today/tomorrow
By the time you see it, you will be 5 seconds too late, and it will have been sold out. Kinda like the 5870 just up... Those who don't want it see it forever, those who do see it sold out before they can click buy. Rule of the internet.

I snagged the sapphire from Newegg. Availability is likely going to suck until late October.

I think so. If you read the Newegg Specs, it recommends 500Watt PSU. (600 for crossfireX)

500 Watt or greater power supply with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors recommended (600 Watt and four 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX technology in dual mode)

Your border line, but I think it will be fine. Seasonic makes some potent PSU's.

Going to wait for third party cooling solutions. From the reviews I've read its LOUD (and hot). The performance is finally worth upgrading for though. I was thoroughly disappointed with the current gen this past year or so (having an 8800 GTX). Didn't think it would ever have that old "double the performance of your old card" feeling like in the old days when upgrading. This one will.

I dont think its preorder. Read under the price: "In Stock: Usually ships in 24 hrs "

It says preorder available... I dont think its for this particular card. If you add it to your cart, you get shipping options like 2 day and next day.

WHAT KIND OF BS IS THAT!!!!
According to newegg it enables everyone to get one fairly... there is a 48hour cooldown time though so you can get another shorty after, provided they have not sold out.

Well I think they do it cause people would buy up like 20, sell all of them on ebay for a small markup, and profit. Not sure though.

Yes, these card just came out, its not like they have inventory coming out there a$$. People that want to do a multiple card setup should seriously wait till they get a bit more settled in and give others a chance to pick one up.

Better to have 1 card each then some dumb rich bastard buying three and depriving people who want one just cause they what to build their ''ub3r 1337 SySt3m''.

Well we live in AMERICA. Thats the nice thing about it.
