That might be one of the best pics yet, I'm gonna post it up so people don't have to click.

It's too bad they use only a 4770 as the current gen example. Thats not a widely used card, would be nice to see a 4850 or 4870 on there instead as they are much more popular.

I cannot help that you don't remember. I do ( I had a 9800 gtx) and people with 8800 and 9800 cards were pissed because they felt the boy at geforce were holding out on them and should have released those driver way before that.

Also the 295 gtx will still compete but the price will drop to about 300.00 , and it will compete with the 5870 1 gb

Cool.. yea if accurate that pic is very helpful as we already have an idea of 5870 length. If accurate, X2 looks to be the longest card in history. I just surveyed my Antec 1200, with an empty middle drive bay, it will accomodate approx 12.5" of card.

A couple details lead me to believe the X2 pic is more than just a shopped pic of the 5870, such as the red racing stripe extending beyond the fan [but not in the 5870 pic], and the pcb extension closest to the vent/connection plate being slightly different.

In truth, I believe nV will trump the X2 with their dual gpu release; but when working with such high framerates, who cares? I've been swapping cards for two years now.. I'm ready for a relationship lasting more than a year. If temps, power, specs, benchmarks all look good for X2, I'm grabbing one straight away. With good scaling, that thing will devour games for a couple years me thinks.. :toast:

After having my 4870x2 for just about a year I would rather go with a couple 5870s than a 5870x2. Better overclocking and better cooling. This time, I have the space and the slots on my board.

Meh, if 4 gpus scale like crap, then 4 more power gpus will scale even worse. I guess if you got the money. I would like to go trifire just to see how it does, but spending more than $100 for a 4870 1gb right now is hard to convince me of and I've been thinking about doing this since March.

That's a fake FirePro (now remade into a HD 5850 mockup). HD 5850 reference card doesn't look anything like that.
