Compared to stock 850/1200 and air temps?

Alot.

Compared to air 1010 and high heat, some with a large margin of safety and much quieter. I was finally able to test the effects of memory and core speed performance. The extra cooling counted for the extra 48Mhz without errors at the same voltage.

Over 1380 memory caused weird errors occasionally and stuttering, between 1320 and 1360 has almost no effect, but at that magical speed coupled with that core speed I picked up 4FPS maximum in furmark at 1280X1024 8X.

Once I closed my case to allow the airflow from the radiator fans to push more over the GPU and VRM sinks they stay in the high 90C range.

My memory freaked out during paging operations at that speed. Maybe needs more volts?

But stock 850/1200 and 1058/1312

19.3% increase in performance. More with more voltage after I get my new cooler installed. It is scaling in step with the core after a few more runs, managed 1330 with a very minimal increase in performance.

This isn't necessarily about the 5000 series but it looks like the rumors of ATI's 'Northern Island' line being 28nm might be correct

http://danielnenni.com/2010/01/17/tsmc-versus-global-foundries-part-ii/

to cut to the chase...

...In comparison TSMC has 23,000+ employees and will add 3,000 more in 2010. With $10B+ in annual revenues, TSMC accounts for 50% of the foundry market revenue and 80% of the profits. TSMC is considered a first source for semiconductor manufacture, meaning that leading fabless semiconductor companies work with TSMC first, then replicate manufacturing at the other foundries for redundancy and cost reductions. Global Foundries will challenge TSMC for first sourcing with AMD manufacturing technology and a manufacturing process partnership with IBM. In fact the first production 28nm wafers by a foundry were displayed by GFI at the Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas this month. At least one of the wafers contained AMD/ATI GPUs.

Yes there was a thread about NI on the S/A forums where Charlie stated that it would be on 28nm. This was back in January I believe.

I think I can confirm some of that erocker. I got my hands on the press drivers last week off the boards and I was seeing HUGE gains in HD 5870 Crossfire. I am talking stock volts/temps outperforming my 950/1250 overclock on 10.2s; I couldn't overclock them at all though, Afterburner wasn't working with the new drivers, let alone CCC.

OK alexsubri you have nice frames but any actual machine can do that frame per second with those graphics. I have only two xfx 5770 crossfire with quad Q6600 at 3.4GHZ and i can run 1920x1080 dirt2 with 67 FPS. a little bit more than my ps3 version. But nice machine you have and nice videoclip:toast::toast::toast:

It seems to be directed at their DX11 GPU's. Since XP doesn't have DX11, I doubt we will see XP drivers in the preview. You can expect XP support with ATi's and Nvidia's new GPU's to have very limited support. 7 is by far better than XP if you are gaming or just a casual user. Since 7 is quite popular and the way forward.

7 does run better but only if you have the proper drivers for the motherboard, NV dropped support for NF2 and 3 in Vista because they are too damn greedy.
