What speed are u guys running 24/7 for general gaming?

Currently still on stock, but the core went to the max (I believe 900) without problems.

I've taken it to 1ghz but feel it's just overkill for most games :cool:

did some vantage.. stock speeds 725/1000 gets gpu score of 12800 vs tuned 950/1100 gets 15800

just a random 5870 thought...

i am super pleased it looks cool, and they designed a new cooler entirely instead of what the 3870/50 and 4870/50 looked like, which were similar for some time.

full cover cooler in black with a black back plate is sexy, looks fantastic in my i7 rig under the coolermaster V10.

loving it.

didn't mess with the bios,, just used msi afterburner for voltage and amd gpu tool for clocks

here is the official msi 5850 unlocked bios

allows for voltage control with afterburner and much higher ccc and it will work with any 5850

Anyone using a HD5XXX with a more humble processor like a C2D e7XXX or 5XXX? How does it behave? I wonder if it will be a good upgrade for me later on, when it's cheaper. Sorry if it's been asked before :cool:

it depends also from which resolution you use to play...at high res load is more on the gpu

personally i prefered to upgrade my cpu, from e6400 to q6600, and next year i'll probably buy a new system based on sandy bridge

In my case it would be 1680x1050. Which would probably not be that bad on the cpu, especially if squeezed a bit more juice out of it

core 2 duo is a fine cpu, especially at 3.2ghz,, u will however notice a nice boost if u switch to a quad core,,get one if u can find a killer deal

i noticed a giant jump from my e6600 at 3.2 to 965BE at 3.4. Everything is smooth and no dips.

5770 clocks are 850/1200 but only 800 Stream Processing Units
