ATI Radeon 9550 OpenGL supprt?

I have a question and it might be kinda on the newbie level, but anyways here it is. I just bought an ATI Radeon 9550 graphics card, and it is working great, but It only has opengl v 1.1, and first of all I was wanting to know if it supports any version higher than that, and if so how would I get it, I have the latest drivers, and software for it. Thanks for your help.

is there anyway to update the opengl or do I have to wait for ATI to update it in their drivers/software

Could someone plzzz help me, I have several programs that need to use at least opengl 1.4 but Idk how to manualy update it, IF I CAN. Thanks for the help.

Please someone help me, I have contacted ati.com support but they aren't helping me, I just updated my bios, all my other drivers are updated, but my opengl is still stuck on 1.1, the only thing that ati support told me was that it supports opengl 2.0, but won't tell me why mine is only on 1.1. If you can help me please do. I have a Sony Vaio RX860, 512mb Ram.

Well make it clear on what you need help for... If it says 1.1 and you can run 2.0 then you are fine. Download DirectX 9c if you haven't already
