Well, heres the thing guys, I went on chiefvalue.com and bought the $137.00 sapphire radeon 9600xt 128mb, its got a black fan with no heatsink that says sapphire on it. The box says sapphire, everything on the papers says sapphire, and the color of the card sapphire card is black... on the webpage. BUt when I opened the box, i saw a red card, that looked a lot like the ati radeon 9600xt, not the sapphire one. IN fact, its exactly the SAME as the pictures on the ati webpage, could it be very well possible they made a mistake? and should I leave it like it is, or ask for my $137 value sapphire 9600xt or keep the $169 value ati radeon 9600xt card?

what should I do< i mean, is this a mistake that i should be happy about or worried about?

I've seen red PCB sapphire 9600 cards and most do like pretty identical to the other. If you go to Display properties in the Control Panel what does it call the card? With the latest Catalyst drivers it identifies my card as a Hightech Radeon 9600XT.

Keep it as its a 9600XT same as ATI's nothin better or worse about it. It is a Sapphire 9600XT but it should be no different from the ATI anyway as they follow the Standard Reference design as ATI's some companies for example(ASUS) use their own design Sapphire doesnt dont worry you not gettin ripped off ( besides I never liked the look of that Sapphire HSF design anyway) didnt look to "cool"if ya get my drift

sapphire 9600xt ???

hey guys, like i said in the previous threads, they claim to have sent me a sapphire radeon 9600xt, it doesnt quite look like one cause the pcb is red, but was told some are shipped out red, the hsf is that of the ati original 9600xt 128 mb. i took some pictures, i tried looking up red pcb 9600xt's not only from sapphire but by other 3rd party brand names. i was not able to find a card tha tlooked like mine. so im not sure if I got what i wanted. here are the picks of the front, side and the box that it came in. the lable on the back of the card sys radeon 9600xt 128mb gold edition and im sure its not an ati original cause ati's use samsung memory, no? and this one uses hynix which is what sapphire uses (i was told)

Well its not an ATI orginal it is a Sapphire. As I said before Sapphire follows the Reference Design on most of their ATI cards which mean they are Clones of ATI's. they make em the same. yes the Memory may be different but thats nothing to worry about its a 9600XT built by Sapphire just like it says on the box. This is also a 9600XT but is NOT using reference design.
Dont worry you got what you paid for and have nothing to worry about just put it in your machine and ENJOY iT

Sapphire actually makes most of ATI's cards, so your getting the same thing either way.

I would also like add...
It's been this way, even before ATI let other manufacturers sell their products. "Built By Sapphire" and "Powered By Sapphire" cards for everyone. :D
I'm not sure about the All in Wonders though they might be produced at their headoffice in Markham.
