Hi,
I have recently built a new computer (details in signature) with a ATI Radeon X1600XT video card. Windows works fine, but whenever I start a game, the computer simply shuts down after a few minutes. It doesn't restart or freezes, it shuts down like it would if I turned off the computer. The more demanding the game (e.g. Oblivion) the less it takes for the shutdown to occur. I have tried changing the PCI express clock frequency to no avail, and tried different DDR Ram memory sticks and it's not that. The CPU is not overheating (it sits at a top of 100 F/36 C), neither is the motherboard or seemingly the video card. The 12V 4 pin auxiliary power supply is connected properly etc. I installed all the recent ATI Catalyst drivers and also an hotfix that ATI had to solve any incompatibilities with the nVidia nForce4 chipset. I am a bit at a loss, do you guys have any ideas?
