I will use it to connect my speakers 2.1 and headphones to Line in with this adapter in the back of my mobo. On this Link there is a adapter with ferrite core. Is that really necessary or I can buy without that?

is cable better than this small adapter? No sound degradation?

Either should work. As far as the ferrite core is concerned is supposed to be there to filter out any sort of electrical interference on the line so having it there is actually a good thing if it actually works

What he said. Ferrite core helps in cleaning up the high-frequency interference.
