Avatar centering/cutting off

I'm having an issue of the forum cutting off the avatar/not centering. Even though the avatar is 400 px wide as requested, it keeps cutting off the right side of the image. The image itself is attached below. You can see the guy on the right in full. But in the avatar, it cuts off the back of that guy.

What am I doing wrong here?

I can't help you, but the avatar is funny, kind of like a lot of misinformation and lies being spewed out here by many forum members. Anyway, even as it stands now, it looks great to me.

I know there have been issues in the past. IE, tick my name and see the difference between my avy here and on my profile page. Mine gets squished on the profile page, and yours looks normal there. I know it is of little help, but we did have a similar thread on the topic when we moved over to this software.

It might look better if you flipped/mirrored the image so the OP tag wont block what you want to see?

Will do... but most will not chop off an image that matches width. Its a 400w x 380h image (I know, not square). It shrinks it to below the reqs?

Ohhhh, I get it now, it's a mobile thing?

Avatars are normal on PC for me, but mobile squishes them until I twist the phone to get the widescreen version.

Interesting. In my experience software will reject it as it doesn't meet the requirements or add white space to the image, not shrink it to below what is listed as the minimum size to make it square. Seems like the shape (square) is the primary factor and the minimum listed isn't the actual minimum/size of the avatar (hence the auto crop). Perhaps list the TRUE native resolution of the avatar and mention the square requirement (though I guess it is implied with the 400x400 'minimum') too?

@W1zzard - So, if the avatar is 400x400 and supposed to be square, how does the forum manage this dude's avatar? It looks like it is 200x400 or something along those lines on my screen (Desktop Chrome)...

But when it is clicked on (looking in his profile), it is square and cropped as to be expected. This is the only user I have run across where the avi shape isn't square in public.
