Basically decided to finally have a play with the B die ram i got. Tried it at 4000 16.16.16 1.45 runs fine, but would i be better running it at that or at 3600 14.4.14 1.45? I'm guessing the voltage is ok for B die? temp of ram is 36c
aida4000.jpg

Here is the kit number TDPPD432G3600HC16GDC01 and stick number TDPPD416G3600HC16GBK

Tbh pretty impressed it will do 4000. It will apparently do 4133 too at 1.5v

Here we go, 3600 14.14.14.36 1.45v
3600c14.jpg

Heres the aida 3600c14. The read writes are slower, does the cas really make that much difference over speed?

I think 3800 CL14 would be optimal for Ryzen.
Not sure how big difference it will make on Intel ADL.

Give 3800 CL14 a try next and see if there is any performance improvement.

No worries. If you can run at 3800 CL14 I would like to see if there is any performance improvement in AIDA64.

Really does not like 3800c14 no boot. same voltage 1.45 just changed from 3600c14 to 3800c14. Weird how it is fine at 4000c16 though. Could have tried 3800c15 maybe

Most B-die need close to 1.5V to do 3800 CL14. Not sure if you want to go that high with voltages.

I think for now i will settle for 3600c14.14.14 which is pretty good, not so high read/write as 4000 but is still pretty good.

The only thing left is check your TRFC, the actual usable values vary a LOT, but i've found XMP doesnt set TRFC on some boards for whatever reason - i had my latency down to 60ns (which is really really low for ryzen) after tweaking mine a lot

As to what value you could get working... not a freakin clue. Mine defaults over 1000, but drops down to 704 stable. I've seen some B-die at lower clocks around the 300 mark? You'd have to check some of the RAM OC'ing threads

I haven't really looked into Alder Lake memory tuning, but I expect for best overall performance you want to find out how fast your CPU's memory controller will run at gear 1, then set the memory speed to match, and optimize timings around that.

Yep! Also don't forget about 1T. For me I'll take 4000 1T over 4133 2T in Gear1. Just depend on the IMC and how much voltage you are willing to pump into it.

Originally I could not get above 3600. A BIOS update to the ASUS Z690 TUF added TX voltage which helped. Manually inputting SA and TX voltage and 4133 Gear 1 is now possible for me.

Would you mind sharing your SA and TX voltages? Using the same board. Seems to like low SA and high-ish DRAM but can't get to 4133 G1 yet using https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820374145?Item=N82E16820374145

Hi,
Same chips and will do the same frequency with the same voltage so least priced is best.

2T is for stability.

For Alder Lake, the best results are going to still be to keep it in Gear1. For more that was 4000 MT/s at 1T and 4266 MT/s for 2T. I have my note somewhere.... It was like 1.25v SA and 1.5v TX. Its on my list to re-test all the DDR4 with a newer BIOS on the ASUS Z690 TUF D4.

I haven't played with my B die DR 2x16's enough really. Shame i am not more of a guru for ram as it might be really good.

You should easily be able to do 3866 or 4000 at 15-15-15 primaries with a good b-die kit. Depending on your airflow you should be able to go to around 1.5-1.55v which would probably let you do 14-14-14 primaries at 3866 or maybe even 4000 (or 4133 at 15-15-15 if the memory controller doesn't throw a fit about 4133 gear 1).

In general with these modern platforms that are limited by sync/gear speeds you just want to gun for the max frequency you can get it to run at (at gear 1/sync) and then go for the lowest timings attainable at that speed.

SA voltage you should be fine at least to 1.35v, not sure about TX. SA voltage is quite important for getting the memory controller to run fast, especially with heavier electrical loading like dual rank and b-die kits.
