In the last couple of weeks my friends have started to say that my voice lags, this has been getting worse, and worse, and worse. I've not installed anything recently, and I can't pin down the problem.

Any ideas of what I can do to track down the problem?

I never understood why, but router performance can deteriorate over time and require a reboot.

If you have a VOIP adapter, try plugging it directly into the modem. If you're using something like magic jack, plug the computer it's on into the modem.

If that doesn't help, then odds are the problem is on the ISP's end although rebooting the modem can't hurt either.
